In the inner port, the Flanders Cold Center has 2 large deepfreeze warehouses with a total capacity of 132,000 m3 for storing frozen meat, fish, dairy products and especially fruit juices. Tropicana is importing over 100,000 tonnes of fresh fruit juices from Florida every year, for distribution to several European bottling plants. A factory for packing fruit juices will become operational in Zeebrugge as of 2003. FCC is also offering customs and BIP settlement (BIP: Border Inspection Post for veterinary inspection of goods imported in the EU). |
