The port area is subdivided into several concessions which are granted to terminal operators for long periods (up to 25 years). These stevedoring companies are private companies which are responsible for the specialized handling and storage of goods. The port of Bruges-Zeebrugge is divided into 3 areas: the Outer port, the Inner Port and the Inner port Bruges. Apart from that there are industrial terrains available in the immediate vicinity of the port for non-water related activities: the 'Transport Zone' and the industrial zones ‘Blauwe Toren’, ‘Waggelwater’ and ‘Herdersbrug’.
